The first volume in the Series ERETRIA, Excavations and researches, is an architectural study of Apollo’s Doric temple at Eretria, famous for its sculptures. The author offers a detailed description of the temple of the VIth century BC, as well as an analysis of the VIIth century BC hecatompedon, whose remains were found under the foundations of the Doric temple. The publication presents also the conservation state of the ruin by 1965. Numerous photographic plates and detailed plans, as well as architectural sketches illustrate the book.
